Auto Download for Podcasts not Starting until specific podcast page is opened

I have been using the Auto Download feature for podcasts since it was launched a few months ago, but it seems to only start downloading the episodes once the specific podcast page is opened in the app. I'm using an Iphone 13 pro max with updated spotify and Iphone OS. I use the spotify throughout the day and the podcasts still aren't auto downloading until i visit the specific podcast page. I'm wondering if it is an issue with an iphone setting or limitation of Iphone OS. This makes the auto download feature almost useless because i tend to open the podcasts when i don't have service.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

As mentioned in this video, you'll find the auto-downloaded content in in Your Episodes folder, within Your Library. Just to confirm, are you able to see the downloaded episodes there, or they start to download there just when you go to the podcast page? It'd be awesome if you could clarify that detail for us.

On another note, would you mind sending us the exact Spotify version you are currently running in the affected device? 

Lastly, , has the feature always been behaving like this or does it start to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? Please send us the details about it.

Hi, yes they seemed to only start downloading when i visit the specific
podcast page. I'm on IOS 16.1.1 . I just updated to the new version of
spotify 8.8.4.551, so I'll see if it continues to happen in the future. It
doesn't seem to coincide with any IOS update. Thank You

Awesome, we'd recommend (as you kindly mentioned) to check if after the update, this behavior continues. Take as much time as you need.

If this continues to happen, it'll help us a lot if you send us a video recording of the describes behavior. You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.
