Bose 500 speaker sound control via Spotify app not working

The Bose speaker app is able to control the volume normally (increase or decrease it), but the Spotify app connected via AirPlay is unable to control volume on the speaker. The volume slider control works up & down, but the speaker volume does not change

Hi, it works on mine (which doesn’t help you much)

I have had the same issue though if I use Spotify on my iPad and then try to control the volume on my iPhone. (Can change tracks but not volume as the iPad is the device connected to the speaker). 

Only suggestion I have is to reboot your phone/tablet, pull the plug out of the speaker and try again. Whenever I’ve had issues that has fixed most problems.
