BMW app switches to Spotify

Hello, any solutions for this - I connect my iPhone 5 (iOS 8.1.2) to my BMW via the lightning cable, turn the BMW connected app on, the phone gets connected to the iDrive and all the features of connected drive are loaded. Then I try to turn Spotify on via the iDrive and most of the time it works (and I get the screen with the BMW and Spotify logos) but too often, the iPhone simply exits the BMW app and launches Spotify. That way the connection beetween the iPhone and the car is lost via the cable, and Spotify can no longer be controlled via iDrive. Thanks for your help!

I have the same issue when I connect my iPhone 4s via 30pin Apple connector. I can switch approx. 8..10 times, then the interface will hang like you mentioned.

If I connect my iPad Air 2 via Lightning cable, the situation is much worse. It will only survive 2..3 switches bevore it hangs.

Car is E91 MY2010, all sw updated.
What's your car and did you find a solution ?

The thing is that you cannot have Spotify via Bluetooth as well as via cable. Deactivate music from your phone via Bluetooth.
