I'm not sure whether this behaviour is intended or if I've encountered a bug....
I made all my songs "available offline". Then, I took my iPad on an airplane (no internet connectivity) and listened to all those songs, with the intention of moving the ones I like into a playlist.
So I created a playlist from the iPad, while having no internet connectivity, and the attached photo shows what happens when I try to move a song to that playlist.

Also, have you tried force closing the app and opening it again (double click the home button and slide up)?
Hi Mckenziepiping:
I believe you've encountered a bug. I couldn't reproduce this, as even offline I was able to add songs to a playlist. Do you happen to know if you're running the latest version of Spotify (3.3.0)?
Also, have you tried force closing the app and opening it again (double click the home button and slide up)?
It was a bug. I have not been able to reproduce it. Simply quitting the app and relaunching it seemed to have solved the issue.
The problem is continuously recurring though, requiring constant force quits and relaunches of spotify. Only happens when offlinr.
I have the same exact same issue and description of problem. I do not have time to stay at home in front of my desktop version to listen and file songs. I have to be able to do this on the go with my iPhone.
I am using iOS version 5.7.0.
I dont see how this threads bug can be termed as "solved".
Spotify is becoming disfunctional as a mobile app.
Please help.
Yes I have this all the time, I wouldn't describe it as solved at all. Either I get the little pop up message described here, or it just gets stuck on the playlist menu when trying to add a track. Sometimes after 30 seconds to a minute it will finally add the track and go back to the current playlist. Sometimes never. It's very unpredictable and highly annoying.
One pretty crappy workaround I use is that it always seems to be possible to create a new playlist, so when I have this problem, I create a new one track playlist and then come back later on the desktop app to rearrange everything.
