My Question or Issue
I have bought a second hand iPod touch 6th gen for my little girl so she can play songs using Spotify however I can't download the Spotify app because it requires iOS 13 and the iPod touch is iOS 12, arrrrrggghhhhh!!!! can anyone help me please?

Hi Jamski, i also bought an iPod 6 for the sane reasons facing the same problems. The following worked out for me eventually: Go to App Store on your new device, then go to purchases, choose "Not in this iPod", then search for Spotify (only works if you have installed spotify on another Apple device already, If Not: Install Spotify on another device and then you are able to find it under purchases). You will then get a "works only with Version 14" notice but will then be offered to Download an older Version of Spotify which worked with me. Good luck and best wishes from Germany
Hi there @Jamski,
Thanks for the post.
Spotify currently supports device which run iOS 13 and newer. Unfortunately there is no way to install the Spotify app on such an outdated device.
You can try the workaround suggested here. This involves using an Apple account which already had an older version of Spotify on it. We can't guarantee that this will work though, but it's worth a shot.
Take care!

I recently unblocked my iPod and was disappointed initially after learning Spotify no longer supports it. However, can confirm that this works. Thank you!
Thanks for the help, however I tried that but it just says that this app is incompatible with this iphone. Any clues on what to do next?
Thank you worked for me also .. after putting in a few Apple logins & emails & passwords to get iPod 6 all set up into my Apple account ( you need to do this ) went to App Store typed in Spotify after a few try’s Spotify became available on downloads had to Sign in with Apple ID again it then flashed up download with older version YES and it did that , opened & linked straight into my Spotify a/c REMEMBER you will need to be a paying customer for offline downloads & various PREMIUM options .. if your into 20th Century music & want the BEST playlists on Spotify check my extensive chart years playlist I’ve put together, same name & playlist Tab on YT too I’ve started to do them on there also, very popular already too.
