Can’t download music for offline listening on iPhone 15 Pro

Can’t download music for offline listening on iPhone 15 Pro

I am experiencing an issue with downloading music on Spotify. The error message says, “You’ve reached the maximum number of downloaded devices.”

Details:

• Device: iPhone 15 Pro
• OS: iOS 17
• Spotify Version: 8.6.48

• Plan: Premium

I recently switched phones and traded in my old devices to Apple when getting my iPhone 15 Pro. I am no longer in possession of those devices.

Despite updating and reinstalling the app, I still cannot download new music. I am currently traveling in Dubai. This issue prevented me from listening to music during a 15-hour flight, causing significant frustration.

Please assist in resolving this issue so I can manage my downloaded content and download new music.

Hey @avg5377, welcome to the Spotify Community!

It looks like you will need to delete downloads from the older device. However, you do not need the device itself to delete the downloads or remove it from the list of downloaded devices.

You can simply go to your account overview page here and log into your account. Then scroll down and click Sign Out Everywhere (under security and privacy section). Then try to download content again on your primary device and see if that makes any difference.

If this does not work, you can open a chat with Spotify here. Let them know about your issue and they can clear the downloads on your devices.

Keep me posted. 🙂🎵

Hi Amayy, I already tried the solution you suggested. I’ll go ahead and start a chat with Spotify to get this resolved. Thanks!
