Can't play any songs on iPod touch 4th gen

Can't play any songs on iPod touch 4th gen

I can´t play any songs on my Ipod Touch 4G.

I have Spotify Premium, and the necessary IOS, and it worked up until a couple of days ago...

I can log into Spotify, I can find songs, I can set them to play, but then it just stops... the screen shows the track, but the length of the track isn´t shown, and nothing happlens when i push the play button (except that it changes to show the pause button  - as always).

I can also connect to the ipod with my phone - as before.

I´ve deleted and reinstalled spotify but the problem persists - any ideas?

Have you tried restarting the device by holding the home and lock buttons together until the Apple logo appears on screen?

I had an equivalent problem on an "iPod Touch 4th gen" with iOS6 and I solved the problem by :

 - doing a clean install of Spotify (remove / add the app again)
 - performing a hard reboot of the ipod touch (as suggested by Peter)

And everything was back to normal. The clean install alone did not fix the problem.
