Can’t rate podcast 5 stars

Can’t rate podcast 5 stars

From a podcast on the iOS app, if I click “Rate show”, it won’t let me submit a 5 star rating. If I reduce the stars to 1-4, a submit button appears, but when I click the 5th star, the submit button disappears.

Can you please check if the same thing happens with a different podcast? It's possible that you've already rated this one and you're now trying to re-submit the same rating.

Hello, I tried rating another podcast and still cant.

Thank you for your reply in this thread.

 

We'll need to gather more info about what's happening first. Can you share a more detailed description of the situation? Do you not see the option to rate the show or do you get any error message when doing it? To rate a show, go to the Podcast > 3 dots > Rate Show. Keep in mind that you'll only have the option to rate it if you've listened to at least one episode.

 

In the meantime, we suggest performing a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. No worries, you won't lose any content by doing so. Additionally, make sure the OS is up to date.

 

On another note, let us know if this happens with one Podcast in particular. And if you haven't, try logging in with your account from a different device and check if you have the same issue.

I’m having the same issue there’s one podcast where if I click 5 stars the submit button disappears. The submit button only appears for stars 1-4. The podcast was ‘Good Influences’

Have you by any chance changed the text size in your iOS settings? If yes, try reducing it and see if that makes a difference.

 

If not, then please share your device model, OS version and Spotify version so we can investigate further.

Nope the text size wasn’t changed. I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro Max run ion iOS 16.6.1 on Spotify 8.8.**bleep** (this happened on the previous version of each so iOS 16.6 and the previous version of Spotify) 

 

 

This is happening to me as well. Across all podcasts. The submit button only appears if you select less than 5 stars. So weird!

Can you check what happens if you rate the podcast with less than 5 stars? Are you then able to submit a 5-star rating?

I'm on Android and I have one podcast I can't post a rating for, I get an error message "there was an error while sending your rating. Please try again". It's for the Unsafe Spaces podcast I've listened to 4 episodes of. I can rate other things after this. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Any ideas?

Could you try rating the podcast from a different device to see if the same thing happens there?

I only have one phone so can't try another, and it says I can't rate it from my computer. Is that what you mean?

If you haven't already recently done so, could you try removing your cached data as shown here, please?
Restart your devices after and check how the app behaves.

Thanks Vasil! I tried that, I cleared the cache and restarted my phone. Still get the same error unfortunately

Would it be possible to try from a different mobile device (a relative's or a friend's) using your Spotify account? This is so we can check if the issue is more so device- or account-related.
