Can't see local files on my iphone, but I can play them from my computer

Can't see local files on my iphone, but I can play them from my computer

Hello. I've been looking for a solution for waaay too long.

So I'm trying to add mp3 files from my computer to spotify so that I can play them on my phone. I added them into a file that I named 'spotify local files' and then added that to the list of files that spotify will look for local files in. Now, I can play and see the songs on my computer, and I have added them into a playlist. However, on my phone, I can't even see the songs. Usually for other people that are grayed out, but for me they just aren't there. I even made a new playlist with just 1 song - the song I'm trying to add via local files, and on my phone the playlist exists but there is literally nothing in it on my phone, despite me being able to play the song in that playlist on my computer?

what the heck is going on? How can I play the local file song on my phone? My phone and computer are both on the same wifi, and the green download slider is selected on both my phone and my computer, but still the song is invisible on my phone. If I play it on my computer and then try to switch to my phone, it tells me that the song isn't downloaded, and that if I own the song I can sync it from my computer - and then I can press learn more or cancel. I've tried what it told me to do, with no results.

I'm on a mac, and am trying to sync my mp3 file onto my iphony 8. I have spotify premium as well. Please help
