Cannot Change Song via Car Controls While Connected To My Car Via USB

Hey all,

I recently switched from Apple Music to Spotify Premium, and I am unable to change the song with my steering wheel controls or the dashboard controls. I had been able to do this with Apple Music, and even a couple years back when I tried out a Spotify trial. I drive a 2015 Honda Accord and it does not have Apple CarPlay, and I currently am using an iPhone 7. Spotify and my iOS are both up to date as well.

Any ideas on a fix?

Thanks for posting about this and welcome to the Community!

You mention that you're using a USB cable to connect to your car. Just to confirm, have you tried a different USB cable?

If so and you're still having troubles, it'd be a good idea trying a clean reinstall of the app on your iPhone device. You can find all the steps to do so in this Spotify Answer.

If possible, we'd also suggest using a different method to connect to your car, for example through a Bluetooth connection. You can find a list of all available options to use Spotify in your car here.
