Car Playback with iPhone error - Error when phone isn't charging?

Solved!

Car Playback with iPhone error - Error when phone isn't charging?

I'm having a very strange issue and I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem.

I recently upgraded to Premium on an iPhone SE running the latest iOS. When I listen to Spotify in the car (old 2001 car, through only an AUX cord), I get what sounds like only one channel of stereo playback, until I plug my phone into the car charger. Then I get both channels, but also a lot of background noise (high pitched sqealing, low buzz), that only happens when the phone is plugged in. Doesn't happen with any other device. I can't for the life of me figure out why this is happening.

No issue with regular headphones or iPhone speaker playback. I've tried restarting the phone (and car) as well as uninstalling the app and messing with the obvious playback settings to no avail.

Wondering if there's some kind of Car Play mode on Spotify (or maybe the iPhone?) that can be disabled.

Any help at all would be appreciated!

Figured I should follow up on this seeing as I resolved it quite a long time ago! Turned out all audio was having this problem, but only in my car. I ended up calling Apple support, and weirdly enough, it turned out to be the aux cord that I was using that was causing the problem. No idea what kind of isse in a cord could possibly be fixed by plugging the phone in to charge, but getting a new cord solved my issue and I suggest anyone having this problem try that first!

Same problem. Was going to try vitalizer app for car playback to see if it resolves. Let you know.
