My Question or Issue

Every single time I open spotify, I click a song to play (one that is not downloaded) and it never plays. I always have to restart the app and when I click on the song again, it plays.

Hey @connormcd96 ,

Have you tried reinstalling your Spotify app as shown here?

Let me know how it goes and

have a nice day!

Yes, tried this many times.

Hey @connormcd96,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

If a quick reinstall didn't do the trick, we suggest running a clean reinstall instead. This is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. Just make sure to follow all the steps you'll find in this guide.

If the issue persists, try logging out, restarting your device, and logging back in. Also, make sure that there aren't any battery optimization or data restriction settings enabled for Spotify on your phone.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hmm well I tried all this and it’s still happening

Hi again @connormcd96,

Thanks for keeping us posted about this.

Can you let us know if this happens when using a WiFi network, mobile data, or both?

We'd also like to know if the same happens in any other device where you use the app. This would help us narrow down the possible cause of the issue.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
