Constant crashes on iPhone (iOS 8.2)

Solved!

Constant crashes on iPhone (iOS 8.2)

Whenever I try to open the Spotify app on my phone, it keeps crashing to the startup screen with the Apple logo. I've never had a problem in the past, but for some reason (probably the new version of Spotify) makes everything crash. I've restarted my phone but to no avail. What to do?

When trying to delete it on my phone it froze, again, so there had to be some sort of bad blood between the Spotify app and my phone. I deleted it through iTunes instead and reinstalled it, and now it seems to be working!

Glad to hear it's working now!

Hi

My spotify app, version 2.7.0.. (I'm currently on iOS 8.1.2) crashes every time I try to open it and I'm thrown out to the home screen.

The problem started with me having to log in to spotify every time I opened the app, it didn't keep me logged in. Then I deleted the app and reinstalled it. After that I can log in to the app once, but after I close it or stay inactive for a while the app crashes when opened and I have to reinstall for it to work. So the problem is I have to reinstall the app every time I want to use it, which is very frustrating!

I have a discussion going on with spotify through e-mail but I'm not receiving any qualified solutions. And believe me, I've tried all possible solutions so far but nothing helps.. That's why I'm trying here to see if anyone else has the same problem?

I would appreciate all the help I can get, thanks!

/Niclas

Whenever I try to open the Spotify app on my phone, it keeps crashing to the startup screen with the Apple logo. I've never had a problem in the past, but for some reason (probably the new version of Spotify) makes everything crash. I've restarted my phone but to no avail. i had to delete and reinstall. not happy with that last update. poor testing and its affected alot of users.

I just upgraded to premium last night. Had it before and got frustrated with a number things and went back to Rhapsody. Rhapsody keeps randomly deleting songs off my playlists. Today I haven't been able to get through a single song on Spotify with out it crashing. I can't even download my playlists to hear offline because it crashes then too within seconds. What is going on with this nonsense? Thinking that coming back was a mistake already.

Have you tried reinstalling Spotify?

Just reinstalled. Opened the app and switched my starred playlist to "available offline" and hit "shuffle play" to listen to music while it was downloading and like yesterday, it got half way through a song and crashed. I got home from work yesterday and it took me 5 hrs to get my playlists/songs downloaded offline. And then I noticed while going through the artists one by one by one (which is also ridiculous to have to do) switching them to "Available offline" that not all the songs were even downloaded. So how do you get ALL your songs downloaded? And where can I suggest all the artists automactically being available offline when you make the songs by that artist available offline?

And as I was typing this message from my phone my ipod was downloading music. Not even playing music and crashed again.

I am having the exact same problem. Had to keep logging in each time it was closed from the switcher and have tried the reinstall process multiple times as well as logging in with Facebook or manually with username/password. I have also tried logging into a different spotify account with the same problem. After the first launch on a fresh install, each launch attempt drops me back to the Homescreen. If this doesn't get fixed I may get rid of my premium and just use something else. 😕
