Deleting songs from iPhone memory on IOS8

Deleting songs from iPhone memory on IOS8

Firstly apologies if this has been posted elsewhere as I have never used the forum before.

Is there a way to remove songs from the iPhone 5s memory? When I remove albums from offline mode I do not get the memory back. Even when I unsave the album or playlist, the storage spotify uses remains the same, the only solution I have been able to find is it delete the whole app which seems to remove the music until I make it available offline again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, with many thanks,

Unfortunately sometimes the songs don't get removed from the memory. When this happens, the only way to remove the songs from memory is to completely delete the app.

The app developers are looking into ways to better clean up the space used.

Many thanks for your reply.

Is there anything I can do to get round this for now? I remember previously using a free trial version of the premium account and I was able to delete songs.

Many thanks again.

Unfortunately there is no way around this right now. It doesn't matter if you are on the free plan or the premium plan.

I have only one or two playlists available offline on my device. One is a master "All Music" playlist with both local and spotify music. Once I have allll music syned, there is a green indicator by the playlist showing its been downloaded to the device.

Now if I want to remove specific songs off my device, I just go to the master "All Music" playlist on my PC and delete the songs from the playlist that way. Then on my iPhone, the songs will remove themselves from the device if all goes well. They should be gone from your "Local Files" playlist, you can go ahead and search for them, they'll be gone. In previous versions of spotify I noticed it wasn't that easy to remove songs. They would stay in the "Local Files" playlist and a lot of the time the green download indicator would stay grayed out. If the green indicator is t showing up, then the local files playlist might need to be resynced (reinstall app)

Give Phone Expander a shot.  Currently in beta, so it's free for now.  Can't delete single tracks from cache or anything, but you can wipe the entire Spotify cache in one fell swoop.  OSX only though, so if you use Windows you're SOL.
