Disable album visuals in app?

My Question or Issue

I really dislike the visuals I get to see in the spotify app when I listen to (for example) the new Jon Hopkins - Singularity album. Is there a way to disable this 'feature'?

Hey @michielvanzeijl,

Can you please post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Thanks.

Thanks for the screenshot! Spotify are always testing things in order to improve. There's more info from them here.

To go back to a normal playing view, simply tap the picture of Jon in the bottom left - this should put your Now Playing view back to normal 🙂

I know how to play in normal view. My point is that I dislike the fact that this function doesn’t add anything to the experience of listening and that it appears back and I have to tap it away every time. The only thing it adds to my spotify experience is that I’m concerned by the fact that again an update is made that probably makes the app slower, uses more battery and is data consuming. I would be very happy to have an option in the settings menu where you can chose to disable this (like the lyrics/info).
