Discover Weekly playlist not updating on iPad

Discover Weekly playlist not updating on iPad

My Discover Weekly has failed to update on my very old iPad 1 this week, although it has done so on my newer iPhone and Mac desktop. This is annoying because I use this iPad for little other than playing music from Spotify. I've signed out, quit Spotify, turned the iPad off and on again and signed in again, played tracks from other playlists, searched for and played other music, and Discover Weekly is still stubbornly clinging to last week's 30 tracks. I accept that there comes a time when old versions of software can longer be supported, but how is this particular problem even possible when additions I make to other playlists on my other devices are still being reflected on the iPad?
