Hey @roboking2009,

Thanks for reaching out!

Does this happen with any library item you try to download or just specific albums?
I'd first take a look at my device's free space. If that is more than 1GB, you should be good. If it's less, I'd recommend freeing up some 🙂

And, aside from this, we'd like to ask you how many downloaded items you have overall and how big the playlists/ albums you are downloading are.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply and do our best to help out 🙌🏼
Cheers!

hello thanks for the reply

yes this only happens with albums not specifically a certain one it happens with all of them

my device has 84 gigabytes of space remaining so its not that

i currently have 5.17 gigabytes worth of downloaded items in spotify (everything including playlists)

The albums are usually 10-20 songs  a few go into the 30s and the biggest album being 42 songs

also this does not happen with playlists i have created or downloaded just albums for some reason

Hi @roboking2009.

Thanks for your reply and the info provided.

First up, make sure both your OS and Spotify app are up-to-date. Additionally, are you turning the offline mode on from the app's settings when listening to your downloads?

In this case, we'd recommend first clearing the cache and removing all downloads from Spotify's settings. Once done, restart your app and try downloading the albums again. If that doesn't help, check if it happens from a different device. If you don't have one, you could borrow a friend o relative's device and download one of the albums you have this issue with. Check if it takes the same time to load from there. This will help us know if the issue is with your account or the device you're using.

We'll wait for your reply.

Hi sorry for the really late reply

this does not happen on majority of the people i know but 2 of them have the same issue also

i am not turning on the offline mode from spotify i didnt even know that was a thing tbh

Hi @roboking2009,

Thanks for the reply. Could you confirm if the issue happens on other devices when using your account? If another account is logged in on your device, does it work?

Keep us posted.

No,it does not happen when my account is logged into another device ive tried before

Hey @roboking2009,

Thanks for your reply.

In this case, if possible, we'd recommend opening a different Premium account on your mobile device to see if you can replicate this behavior. You can ask for the Premium account of a relative or a friend to open it on your device and check.

On another note and just to confirm, do you use any cache-clearing or task-killing apps? Take into account that these apps can affect the performance of the app. If yes, we'd suggest you whitelist Spotify, or stop using them for a couple of days to see if you notice any difference.

Since we couldn't replicate this issue on our end, the final process that we can suggest is a factory reset. This might fix some damaged processes that could be interfering with the proper connection with the app, but we know that this process will erase all data from your device, so it's optional if you want to do it. Make sure to have a secure copy of all your data in case you want to complete this process.

You can also move your downloaded content to a different playlist to see if you notice any changes. Make sure to keep both the app and your device up-to-date.

Lastly, since you mentioned there are some people you know that have this same issue, it's worth inviting them to post their cases here. That way, they can leave their info here and we can investigate further from our side.

We'll be on the lookout!
