Downloading Music?

Downloading Music?

I have got 1 years worth of using Spotify Premium on an iPhone, with a premium subscription. I have downloaded a lot of single songs and a few playlists in the library. I have not had an issue listening to any of them offline as they had been downloaded onto the phone.

All of a sudden my phone says that it is downloading 520 songs and this is chewing up a lot of storage space on my phone! It's not downoading any new material at all.

Any ideas?

Hey there!

I'm sorry to hear this is happening. It's no fun when you can't listen to your offline music, without worrying about it actually being 'offline.'

Although, I'm not positive what the actual solution should be to this problem - as there are many things to consider (phone make/model, software, etc.), I can suggest (and this will require a complete redownload of all songs, unfortunately) that you try this method in trying to resolve this issue:

1. Go to Account Overview - Offline Devices page here.

2. Remove the device that is mis-behaving (your phone in this case).

3. Uninstall, then reinstall the Spotify app on your phone.

4. Now try signing in and redownloading your music.

Hopefully, the removal of the phone from your offline list and the reinstallation will reset any cache that your phone has from Spotify.

Sorry for all of the hassle this is causing. If you need any more help, don't hesitate to reach out to me or Spotify Support through this link.
