Downloads deleted

Twice in 2 days all my songs that I've downloaded to play offline have disappeared. Typically this happens every 2 weeks and I have to go through and download them again. The only place they are saved is my iPhone. I'm getting fed up with this. Please help me to stop this happening or I'm off to Apple.
