My Question or Issue

Once the enhanced feature came out, I turned it on for one of my playlists, now everytime I leave the app, I have to turn it off always and when I don’t have good service in areas, it stays on and I can’t disable it because the whole playlist won’t load (my playlist is downloaded for offline too). It’s very frustrating is there a way I can fix this and disable it completely?

Hey @Alexab02,

Sorry to see this has been happening to you!
Does the issue persist when you also toggle offline mode on?

It seems to me that something may be saved in your cached data and is interfering here, so let's start by removing that first!

If this doesn't do the trick, log out and back into the app twice in a row and if that's not enough, we can throw in one complete clean reinstall and hope for the best 🙂
Tip: Please keep in mind that you will have to download all your downloaded content again after the new installation, so it's best done when you have a Wi-Fi connection available.

Let us know how it goes!

I tried out the feature to add/autocomplete a playlist in the app where you click on a button in a playlist and it adds similar songs you might like to your playlist.
Quite nice, the problem is: I can't turn it off anymore.

After activating the feature once in my Favourites, every time I start the app and enter the playlist, the feature is activated again and I have to manually deactivate it every time only for it to be active again next time I go to the playlist.
This prevents me from being able to open the playlist in offline mode, as it doesn't download the added songs.

I've already tried deactivating it, redownloading the playlist and reinstalling the app.

Yes, this solved it! I had to go through all the steps (clearing cache, deleting downloads, relogging, clearing cache again for good measure and redownloading) and it worked for me, thank you so much ❤️

I've been struggling with this for weeks, if not months already.

Hey @yourtragedy

Fantastic news! Give us a shout if it starts misbehaving again, we're here to help.

Have a good one 🙂

Dang it, it would've been so nice if it stayed that way... After about a couple days of solving the issue, it happened again (and is a permanent issue again). I've been pretty busy so I haven't been able to post earlier. 😞

I really don't want to go through the whole shebang every couple days to prevent Spotify from fking up my Favourites.

In addition to this heads-up, I've posted a short screen recording of my phone app below.

Hey @yourtragedy,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Would you mind checking for a pending update for your device? In case there is one - make sure to install it and try if the app behaves the same way.

On another note, we're always working on improving user's experience and we advise that you also check if you're running the latest version of Spotify app. If you're not - please make sure to update your Spotify app.

If you've checked all of the above and the issue still persists, it'd be great if you could tell us the exact make and model of the affected device, its operating system, as well as the Spotify version you're currently running.

Everything is up to date, but the problem persists.

My device info:
iPhone 11 Pro
iOS 16.3.1
Spotify: 8.8.10

Hey @yourtragedy,

Thanks for all the info shared and for keeping us in the loop!

In this case, we'd like to check: is this happening over WiFi? 3G/4G? Both? Do you notice any difference if you switch the internet connection you're using?

On another note, if you log in with another account on the affected device, do you experience the same? It'd be awesome if you could check. You can verify by asking a relative or a friend to open their account on your device.

Lastly, is your account behaving like this on a different mobile device? If possible, you can ask for the device of a relative or a friend to check.

Keep us in the loop!

So sorry for the delayed answer, life has been... well, life and I didn't even have time for listening to music.

I didn't have anyone willing to check if I could login on their device or vice versa; the problem persisted in every connection (WIFI, 3G, 4G, Edge, ....).

I checked like a month ago after an update and the option to enable/disable the additional songs was completely gone (like the button was removed), but I still had the additional songs in the favourites. Right now it's been changed to include the random songs in the shuffle button (shuffle off, shuffle on, shuffle on but with additional songs) and THAT finally seems to have resolved the issue.

So yeah, I hope it stays that way. Thanks for all the help and sorry for the huge delay.

I hope you have a wonderful week. :)I

Hi there @yourtragedy,

Thank you for getting back to us.

YEs, currently the Enhanced feature is integrated in the new Smart Shuffle button. We really appreciate your feedback on this and have made sure to pass it on to the relevant development teams at Spotify.

Cheers 🙂
