My Question or Issue

Hello everyone! When I use Spotify on iOS, the cover art of my songs stay grey for a few seconds every time I switch to the next song. It happens even if the songs have been downloaded. It's not that big of a deal but I tried it on other phones and it doesn't seem to happen on them.

Does anyone know what's happening and how to fix it? I’ve tried to disconnect from everywhere, clear my cache, do a clean reinstall and nothing worked so far.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

 

Great initial troubleshooting! In this case, we'd like to gather some additional info. Has the app always been behaving like this or does it start to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? Please send us the details about it.
 

On another note, is this happening over WiFi? 3G/4G? Both? Do you notice any difference if you switch the internet connection you're using?

 

Lastly, is this happening if you open a different account on the affected device? It’d be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to open it in your device and check. Please include the Spotify version you're running in your device in your next reply 🙂

I don’t have an exact date but it started after I bought my new phone in September (was on an iPhone XS before that). At first, it was happening from time to time and basic troubleshooting seemed to resolve the issue, but it always came back. Nowadays, nothing seems to fix the problem, even temporarily.

 

Connection doesn’t seem to be the issue as it happens in 3G, 4G it offline mode.

 

I created a second account and the issue is still happening. My Spotify version is 8.8.24.312.
