Hidden tracks on playlists on ipad

I find hiding tracks on Spotify curated playlists does NOT stop the track playing. Why? What is the point of “hidden”?

Would you mind letting us know if you notice any difference after performing a clean reinstall of the app? This can be very helpful for clearing any cache that might be causing issues. 

Also, can you confirm if it only happens with Spotify created playlists? Have you noticed this when using your account on a different device?
