Higher use of data traffic

Higher use of data traffic

Hi,

I've been using Spotify on my iPhone for years but suddenly it uses up data faster than normal. I've checked the settings in Spotify and I have the same settings as I've always had, normal sound quality and so on.
An hour of streaming Spotify has already reached 1gb of traffic!
Does anyone now why this is?

I wish I could answer why, but I've experienced the same thing.

I've noticed that in conjunction with my data usage increasing, Spotify has been acting strangely when I play an album or playlist.  Rather than playing every song in a playlist and then stopping, Spotify keeps on playing random songs from radio, or similar artists, or something and if I'm not paying attention when I am mobile, it is pulling cellular data to do it.

I've also noticed that once it does this, then my "recently played" list has a row for my saved playlist, and another for a "playlist radio" for lack of better description right next to it and that if I inadvertently select this row, it streams every song that I thought was downloaded.

I made a separate post on this exact situation and hoping that there is something that can be done because I believe this to be the cause of my sudden and significant increase in data usage.
