No worries, you can remove the banner you mention in the desktop app heading over to Settings > Display and toggling off the Show announcements about new releases option.

I don’t have the desktop app, only iPhone and access through web.

"Show announcements about new releases" should be disabled by default for premium users. Also the option in settings should clarify that these announcements are ads.

If you had bothered to read, you would have known this is a big with the iPhone app, not the desktop app.

How do I get rid of a "New release from" songs on my home page? Why is there no hide option?

I don't want suggestions for an artist in a genre I'm clearly not interested in or have never listened to. Up until this point I've only seen suggestions from artists that are on my playlists and I actively listen to. No more. Now it's just random autotune mumble rap from artists I've never even heard of and is similar to absolutely nothing I listen to.

I'd rather have this feature completely disabled and miss songs from artists I actually care about than being forced something I'm physically unable to listen to.

I just clicked "not interested" on a song on the mobile app just to be greeted by the same exact song on desktop immediately afterwards.
