How can I transfer local files to mobile using hard line instead of wifi?

Solved!

How can I transfer local files to mobile using hard line instead of wifi?

I have some songs on my office desktop (which uses a hard line, not wifi) which I'd like to sync to my spotify mobile. This seems like a straightforward use case. How can I do this??? Why isnt this easy??

Desktop: Windows XP

Mobile: iPhone 3G

I have a PREMIUM account.

Hey there,

Thanks for getting in touch.

I do apologise, there may have been a bit of confusion here. With things like iPod Nano, Shuffle and Classic devices, you can use Spotify to sync local files via USB.

However, on your iPhone, an Wireless Internet connection would be needed to sync local files from your computer to your phone, so you can play them within the Spotify client.

I think there is no way of syncing by using a USB cable at this point. This is a topic that has been talked about for a while and there are no ways around it.

I don't work for spotify but this is what I think / saw discussed over other threads...

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch.

Local files can only be transfered by a usb connection between your computer and phone.

So just connect your mobile to to your computer through USB and sync you local files through the client.

If you have any other questions or queries please do not hesitate to get back in touch.

Kind Regards,

I'll try and ask around from the Spotify staff for a definitive answer

This is wrong - only iPods can.

However, connecting to a wifi tether works for me on Android. Make sure you have the Spotify app open though.

...your picture says it too... iPhone and Android to be connected via wifi.

Android does have cable possibility but guessing iPhones don't.

Cable is only for some iPods or all iPods...

Your most welcome 🙂 Glad to assist. Sorry for the confusion... When I'm not 1000000 % sure about stuff, I bother others - like doctors do in treatments... Get a second opinion 🙂 You got more than that 🙂
