I can no longer play both downloaded and non-downloaded songs

I just upgraded to a new iphone and downloaded the latest version of the spotify app.  Now I can no longer play both downloaded and non-downloaded songs.  When I set playback to offline I can only play downloaded songs.  When I turn off the offline playback then I can play the other songs but not the downloaded ones.  Before the new phone I could play any song anywhere at anytime and I want that back.  Thanks.

You can only play Downloaded songs if you are offline, there is no possible way to listen to songs you haven't downloaded while the Offline mode is enabled.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here. Try signing out and signing in several times to see if that helps

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I am not offline but can now play both the downloaded and non-downloaded songs.  Deleting and re-installing the app worked because before I just transferred everything to the new phone from the itunes backup.  Thank you!

Just curious - why would anyone ever want to set playback to offline?
