My Question or Issue

¿Alguna idea?

Hi there @Josaino,

Thanks for reaching out. Hope you don’t mind us responding in English, as this is the official language of the Community. The correct steps for using local files on iOS can be found here. Are these the ones you followed? Try again, making sure not to skip anything and it should work. You can also perform a clean reinstall on your iPhone beforehand, that can help resolve a multitude of issues. If the issue persists, send us some screenshots or a video of the behaviour and we'd be happy to take a look.

Hope this helps.

Hi Joan.

First of all, thanks for your response

About the language, I'm trying to find how Spotify gives support to his spanish mother tongue customers. The only place what I find to ask something is this Community. I'm spaniard, I'm living in Spain, my mother tongue is spanish and according to the legislation in my country (from where I'm paying for the service) I have the right to receive support in spanish. Maybe you can help me to find where I can find this place to receive this support in my language. I've no problem with English (and other languages), but this is my personal situation. Other users maybe need support in Spanish (or other languages). And, belive me, is a very hard work (and frustable) trying to find support in Spotify being a paid user. I'm consediring to abandond (and not recommed more) Spotify due this very important issue.

About my problem related to how to play local files, maybe I didn't explain well.

What I want to do is to have access to personal mp3 files stored in a folder in my PC from my iOS or Android devices.

With Android, I can do it perfectly using the Windows application and the Android app in my phone or my tablet,

With iOS, I belive (not 100% asure) I did it in the past in same way (maybe 1 or 2 years ago) using the Windows application and the iOS app in my phone or my tablet. I don't remember needing iTunes because I don't use iTunes at all in any case. In fact, after your response, I tryed to use iTunes and is a very complicated and unestable application (in Windows OS).

In any case, my concern is to understand if Spotify works with those personal files located in my PC in same way fro iOS and Android. From my end user perspective, It has no sense to need to use iTunes to get that functionallity.

Again, thanks for your answer and your time.

Regards,

Josaino

Hey @Josaino,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

We understand where you're coming from, and we really appreciate your comments on the matter. We'd like to add some insights: since the Community is a public space for users all around the world, its official language is English.

We're sorry about your experience searching for support in Spanish. You can get assistance in Spanish through private channels such as Facebook, Twitter, email, and chat if you reach our Customer Support team. You can find out how here.

Regarding your question, the whole Local files experience changed not so long ago, and it's not the same on Android and iPhone. You can either add the files to your iPhone and, in the app's settings, switch Show audio files from this device on, or you can sync them from your Windows computer, but for that, you'll need to use iTunes. You can read all about that in

this article. How it works in Android can be found here.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
