In Offline Mode & starts playing random songs not in my playlist/library

Solved!

In Offline Mode & starts playing random songs not in my playlist/library

I have a premium subscription to spotify.

I have 2 playlists that I save to my device (since I turn data off for spotify - via settings in the phone) and so I use these playlists while in the car, driving (because there is not internet connection).

However, recently I have noticed that when it goes to play a song in my list, it skips it, and then proceeds to play some random song I don't know (not in my library or a playlist). I'm supposed to be in offline mode and I have turned data off. So there are a few questions:

  1. Why is it playing a random song?
  2. Where is it finding whatever these songs are?
  3. Why is it playing a song I never told it to have saved to my device?
  4. Why is it skipping a song I put in my playlist, while I have a premium subscription?

My app is up-to-date as well. It's extremely frustrating, since I do not have unlimited data and I also have limited space on my phone. So I don't want these random songs to take up space on my device without telling me, and I don't want it to try to use data when I've told the app through settings it is not allowed to.

Any help as to a solution or the cause is appreciated.

Hi.

I think a new feature called AutoPlay is what is causing your problem, can be turned off in settings inside the app.
As for how the app can connect when you have it turned off I don't know. And I don't know why it skips songs.

I have turned it off and since have not had that problem (so far).

Thank you! I was not aware they had added it.

Hopefully if that, was in fact, the issue they ensure it does not access the network in offline mode or download random songs without permission.

Again, thank you!
