On Spotify Mobile for iOS, if I go to Your Music>Songs, I see "Remove" under a track. If I go to Your Music>Playlist and look at the same track, I don't see "Remove". See Screenshots below:

surely thats because you are ni a playlist not the 'collection' i.e. you can only remove from the "your music" if you are in it.

Exactly. It's also confusing to get different views based on whether I got there from a playlist or my music.
@Peter,
say i was in a playlist, listening to a bit of 'Spice Girls' :), they were in my collection under the songs and on a playlist.I decide they dont fit in my 'Rock Legends' playlist so i inadvertently select a button to "remove" (because as a user I may think it meant 'remove from my playlist), then i have removed from my collection. Not my intention, so if i realise my terrible error i can find it and readd it but that sounds annoying to me more than helpful.
On the desktop, when youre in a playlist you can add a single song to the collection and remove it easy enough using the + button and you have the option to delete the track from the playlist. So the app isnt following the desktop logic so i am with you on that 🙂
guys, i have just found some time to test, what version are you taking those screens from? i'm iphone 4 v 1.1.0.2549
I can see what you are saying, but i still think a remove option there is dangerous.

That's the problem with collections. Your example shows that "Add" and "Remove" can be ambiguous. If only we had something simple to show that a track has been added to My Music, something like a star maybe?
Either way, I want the UI to be consistent. I shouldn't see a different screen based on whether I got to a track from a playlist or my music.

yeh, the stars would work really well i would think alot of people would use that 🙂
I know what you are saying, theres no clear distinction between the buttons and users will find it confusing when the terminology is being mixed up... even when they are computer literate.
For me, the IOs app is almost impossible to use on the run now since the changes, removing nice double tap feature, the starring, making the buttons smaller and making all screens dark, all make it extremely dangerous to use on the road or even just going for a run now.
