My Question or Issue

Every time I start my car, my playlist either restarts (thus erasing the order I had my songs in) or it starts playing from a whole other playlist. What is going on? It’s worse when I try to control the music via Google maps. Speaking of which, if I haven’t closed out of either app, why do I have to reconnect to Spotify every single damn time I use Google Maps?  Where is the convenience of having both apps connected if it constantly has to reconnect? I’m a delivery driver and let me tell you there are no words to explain just how frustrating this all is to have to deal with while navigating. I think I’ve been a loyal customer and have paid you all plenty in dues for a long enough time that these issues should be taken with the deepest sincerity..

Regarding your Maps issue, can you please confirm you've gone over these steps when connecting your Google Maps app with Spotify? 🙂

It's also worth checking if Google Maps can be found under your 3rd party apps.
If it's there but you're forced to reconnect every time, you can try removing it and then linking it again from your Maps app.
After doing this, check if Spotify remains on until you restart the Maps app.

And, regarding your playback issue, could you also let us know how you connect your mobile device to your car?
Are you using Bluetooth or a cable connection?

To start troubleshooting this, these three could help out:

  1. Make sure your app is up to date;
  2. Clear your cached data by following the steps here;
  3. See if performing a complete clean reinstall of the app would make a difference.
