My Question or Issue

I downloaded the update a few days ago.   Whenever I plug my phone into headphones I encounter this problem.  The music will pause or play randomly when I'm using other apps.  It will also do that when I move my phone too fast.  It is accompanied by the pop up that shows me my volume has been changed even when I have not pressed the volume button and the volume isn't affected.

I tried to reinstall the app, restart my phone, and I removed the phone case to make sure it wasn't hitting my volume button on accident.

Hey @Enzas, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

Could you try that with another pair of headphones/earphones?

It seems like they're are not having the right connection with your phone.

Probably try cleaning the jack port of your phone.

Also, could you tell me your iOS and Spotify versions?

Thanks 🙂

My Iphone software is 13.1.3, spotify is 8.5.28.1046.

I tried a new pair of headphones and I cleaned the port.  It was still happening, and only with the spotify app, no other music app.  But then I switched to bluetooth headphones and it stopped.  So probably it was the port?

Thank you!

Hey @Enzas,

It might be the port itself but I'd suggset trying a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

Keep me posted 🙂
