Issue

Hello wonderful Spotify team. I'm one of the millions heavy user of Spotify.

I've noticed one issue of the iOS app about the loading speed of downloaded Podcast, especially offline mode and bad-internet connection locations. I tried reinstall the app already, but didn't fixed.

 

To reproduce

  • Download some Podcast episodes (I usually download less than 100 episodes) to iPhone
  • Turn on offline mode of Spotify (airplane mode of iPhone), or go somewhere you only have weak (like 3G) internet connection
  • Open the app, go to [Your Library] > [Your Episodes]
    • [Under no internet] It took about 10 sec to show them
    • [Weak internet connection] Even worse, nothing shown (only the "now loading" dots) more than 1 min

For just listing up 30-ish episodes, I think both are considerably slow, given the downloaded songs  ([Your Library] > [Liked Songs]) just show up instantly even for nearly 1000 songs.

I just want to listen to pre-downloaded podcasts under weak / no internet (that's why I download them beforehand!). But literally I cannot because I cannot select it. Could you take a look at this issue?

 

 

*Related posts were already posted, like this (I think this is exactly the same) and it is still unresolved.

There seems some similar issues in Galaxy (link1, link2), but I am not sure how they are related.

We appreciate your comments and it's great to hear that you enjoy using the app 🙂

 

To try and find out what might be the reason of this behavior, we can try some troubleshooting steps. First, we understand that you already tried reinstalling the app, but could you try again by following these specific steps for a clean reinstall? That one is more thorough and can help removing any cached files that might cause trouble. Keep in mind that you'd need to download your content again afterwards.

 

If this doesn't make any difference, could you try on a different device to see if you can replicate the same behavior?
