Hey @EricReijtenbagh!

Could you confirm that you're following the steps in this article? Note that the way local files work has been changed, so it's no longer possible to sync local files from your PC to your phone. Instead, the same files need to be manually imported to your phone's storage as well.

Hope this clears things up.

Having the same issue. Please, feel free to point out where things go wrong.

1. Copy a song from iMac to iPhone (connected via lightning cable)

2. Confirmed that the song is indeed on the iPhone and is playable in "Music"

3. Settings in Spotify to "show audio files from this device" are "on".

4. Song shows up in "Local Files" on the iPhone.

5. Song is playable in Spotify on iPhone.

6. Add song to "Playlist X".

7. Song shows up in the playlist and is playable on iPhone.

(and here is where it gets very, very messy)

8. Open up Spotify on iMac (or Windows, it doesn't matter)

9. Search and open "Playlist X": the song appears, but is greyed out.

10. Add the same song to the playlist on the iMac (or Windows) (note that the song is also available on Local Files there, via the "old" method)

11. The song appears 2 times. One playable on iPhone and one playable on iMac.

I'm sorry, but this is just disappointing. I have to create a "iPhone" playlist and an "iMac" playlist now? This is just crazy to maintain.

This is the worst update ever. Not even notifying Users is bad practice. Going to cancel my subscription and move to Youtube Music.
