Log in issues with account made through Facebook

My Question or Issue

I created my account a long time ago through Facebook somewhere around 2013. Changes have been made to the process in which it is required to be able to log into your Facebook account to link it to your Spotify and ultimately be able to log into your associated account which has made it very difficult for me to log into my Spotify account. This being said, I have no access to the email that was initially associated with my Facebook account and then is also the one that is linked to my Spotify account as well. I have been able to change this and update it to my current email on Facebook, but the change hasn't been made to my linked Spotify account, and I am unable to change this from the app. Ultimately, I am wondering if there is any way to permanently unlink my same account from Facebook and still maintain all of my data without having to log into my Spotify account through Facebook. I had tried to make a new account entirely through Spotify with my current email address, but I went back to using the one that is linked through my Facebook account since it has all my data and music associated with it. I am hoping that I would be able to use the account with my current email that was made independently through a Spotify log in that is not linked to any social media third party and still have my premium subscription and have my data transferred on this account.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

We understand you’ve already changed your email address on your Facebook account, but we can confirm that this info won’t update automatically on your Spotify account. No worries, even if your account is created through Facebook, you’ll be able to change your email address on your Spotify account directly from your Account page.  

However, since you mentioned that you already created an account with your current email address, you’d need to close it first by following the steps here. Keep in mind that the account closure process takes 14-30 days to complete, at which point your email will be freed up to use on your Facebook-created account. Also, note that if you signed up with Facebook, you can't disconnect it, but you'll be able to log in using your email address and a password that you can set here.
