Tried to download 2015 music today and have lost Spotify app, though outline of app iis still there on iPad. Just says downloading . Tried to update app. Still nothing. Can anyone help please?

This is probably something for the Apple/iPhone official support. Sounds like the App Store is t working correctly. 

Do you mean that the app doesn't update? Try to uninstall the app, then restart your phone. Then try to download the app again.
