Lyric flag button causes app to become unresponsive

Solved!

Lyric flag button causes app to become unresponsive

Plan

Free

Country

Australia

Device

iPhone 13 mini

Operating System

iOS 15.5 15.6 (I recently updated and the error still occurs)

My Question or Issue

I found incorrect lyrics for a track and tried to use the flag icon on the iOS app. As soon as I tap the icon, the screen is slightly greyed out and the app becomes unresponsive. I can see that music is still playing, but I can't interact with anything.

I've tried logging out and back in and I've also tried deleting the app and reinstalling it.

Hey there,

Thanks for the replies.

Could you check if the issue persists on the latest version of the app? This should be 8.7.54 for iOS devices (at the time of writing this reply). Also make sure to update to the latest iOS version.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

Hi @franfunayama,

Thanks for the post and for sharing this feedback with the Community!

We still recommend reaching out directly to Musixmatch about this, since they're the ones who are providing and who can update the lyrics on Spotify.

Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for responding. Yes, I've already dealt with the incorrect lyrics separately, that issue doesn't require resolving at the moment.

My query has to do with the Spotify app not behaving as expected when tapping a particular button on the iOS app as you can see from the video I attached.

I am experiencing the same. The moderator’s response is not helpful as it does not address the app becoming unusable/unresponsive upon hitting the flag. Maybe this can be routed to the department responsible for fixing bugs in the app.

Oh dear. I was hoping I was an isolated case too. Sorry to hear you're running into the same issue 😞

Might be worth you sharing details like I did in my initial post re: device, OS as well.

This doesn’t really help you, but the exact same thing just happened to my Spotify app when I hit the flag button…however the app became responsive after a force close & reopening the app.

This is answer doesn’t help the technical issues we all experienced. At all.

Hi folks,

We've looked further into this and it appears that it is consistent behavior since the last few days.

Could you let us know the following information:

  • Device model and OS version
  • Spotify app version
  • When did you first notice this issue occurring

Looking forward to your replies.

Resolved for me

Confirming that updating to app version 8.7.56 on iOS has resolved this issue.
