Music playing on iphone when I try to play it on my Dell laptop

This has happened a few times. When I try to play spotify on my laptop (with headphones or without) it doesn't play on my laptop and instead plays on my iPhone 6. Both have the current Spotify updates (Version 8.4.20). I basically cannot play spotify on my laptop (which has better sound and better connection to my **bleep**ty campus wifi) because of this. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! I do not want to have to keep my phone on airplane mode everytime I play music from my laptop. Considering just switching to Apple Music tbh
