My music wont play on mobile but will on desktop

Hi, so i have spotify premium and i tried to sync local files but most of them did not get sync to my phone. some are white some are grey. i tried what the app told me to do but it's all so confusing. im running it on an iphone 6plus 16gig brand new. im running both of the latest versions. someone help!

Syncing local files cross-device can be problematic, may I ask what files they are? Most albums/songs can be searched and played in Spotify instead of added from local files and then they will definitely work.

They're mostly just mp3 files i get through my youtube downloading software that goes to its own folder.

Gotchya. Yeah, if you can source any of them from Spotify then that would be a better way to do it. If you aren't able to do that, from what I have seen Spotify doesn't like letting unrecognized local files play cross-device, so I don't think there is a good way to do that. I glanced through some other related user problems, and while there weren't any guaranteed solutions some users did have some good suggestions.
