Next Song Won't Play When Connected to JBL Clip Speaker

My Question or Issue

When I'm playing songs on shuffle via my iPhone 8 through JBL Clip+ bluetooth speaker the song will stop with 2 or 3 seconds left and will not move to next song.

• It doesn't happen everytime, but most of the time.
• It doesn't happen when I'm listening on the my phone only.
• It doesn't happen when streaming via my Echo devices.
• I've deleted and reinstalled the app. 
• There's no crossfade.
• Gapless Playback is on.

I don't have another bluetooth speaker to test it on, but seems like it only happens when I'm connected to the JBL.
