No audio using USB cable in my car

No audio using USB cable in my car

Hi everyone,

I have read a few topics and it appears a few people have a similar issue.

I own a Mazda 2 and so do my parents.

The AUX has already worked in both cars, however now the police are clocking down on people touching their phones whilst driving (and rightly so), I don't want to be skipping tracks on my phone, even though I don't need to look at it to change a track.

The USB connection all of a sudden started to work in my car over a year ago and I can happily change tracks through the stering wheel skip button.

However, for some reason the USB cable will NOT work in my parents Mazda 2. It shows the track playing on the Mazda screen but there is no audio.

Both cars don't have bluetooth so the USB cable is now the only option.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi @kcammidge

Hope you're doing okay.

Just to check - are you using the same USB cable for both cars? If so, can you give it a shot with a different one? Also, has the USB cable ever worked for your parent's car?

Let us know if that works.

Hi,

Yes I have tried several cables.
And no the USB has never worked properly in my parents car.

It never used to work in my car either but then one day following an update
on Spotify it started to work and has been fine since for over a year.

Just to clarify though, my parents car does pick up the fact a USB has been
plugged in and the iPod option appears. The track then shows up on the
screen but no audio comes out of the car or iPhone.

Many thanks for your reply.
