Not getting Premium on my iPhone

Not getting Premium on my iPhone

I signed up for Spotify Premuim about a month ago and so far everything has been great.

However, today I notcied that Spotify had cached over 1 GB of data on my phone, understandably, as I listen to a lot of music.

In the past, the way to fix this problem (one app caching a large amount of data) is to delete the app and re-download it from the App Store.

So, I did this and upon re-installing the Spotify app and logging in, the app fails to recognize my Premuim status and I've lost all playlists that I saved since upgrading to Premuim. When I open Spotify on my mac, my Premuim status is still recognized, and all playlists I've saved since upgrading are there. Support asked me to log out and back in, which I tried again with no success, as well as performing a clean re-installation, which also brought no success. Anyone else have this problem? Why does there seem to be such as issue with mobile devices syncing to your account? Would it be so hard to create a "sync all devices" action through the spotify website that would allow your mobile device to recognize that you're logged into an account that's signed up for Premium?

Anyway, anyone else have this problem? It's rather frustrating because I just want to keep space on my phone, without having to worry about the services I pay for being unable to recognize that I'm paying for them.

Any help is appreciated, as I have a long drive ahead of me today and I'll be damned if I'm going to listen to the radio the whole time.

Thank you,

Hi there,
Welcome at the Spotify Community!

Are you sure you're logged in to the right account? As you say it even won't see your playlists (which are visible via desktop).

I had the same exact problem, except my phone is a Samsung Galaxy s5. Per the suggestions on the forums here Suggestion, in order to make more space in my internal storage and download my offline playlists in my external SD card I deleted my cache and data (through Settings), logged into my account again, and attempted to change my download quality to Extreme. When I tried to do this, it automatically asked if I wanted to use Spotify Premium for 7 days to try this option. Problem is --I already have Spotify Premium (have been paying for this monthly for a few years now) and now my phone is not able to sync any of the data from my Spotify Premium account. I uninstalled Spotify and reinstalled it and tried the abovementioned steps again only to find that did not help either. I checked My Playlists section... and ALL of my playlists have been deleted (however on my desktop on which the Premium Account is still synced, all my old playlists are still there). But now on my phone, ALL of my music is gone!

And the kicker is, when I checked my phone's Device Storage after all of this it still shows the same amount of data used up in the internal storage. (What?!)

So, 3 main problems:

1) How do I sync my Spotify Premium account with my phone again?
2) HOW can I get my playlists back on my phone? Is it possible to just sync the Premium account to my phone and have all of my playlists back (WITHOUT having to manually remake the playlists from scratch).
3) Is it possible to save my dowloaded offline playlists onto my external SD card? And if so, how can I do this?

Please, someone help me. This has been a cause of extreme frustration and inconvenience. I have been endlessly searching through all these forums and trying out suggestions 'this' and 'that' -all to no avail. As an avid Spotify Premium user, this problem has truly put a damper in my day-to-day affairs (read: I am really sad).

If you can help me with this problem I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thank you!

Update: Problem has been solved!!!
