Offline devices limit - ASK which one to delete before removing songs!

Offline devices limit - ASK which one to delete before removing songs!

Dears,

Would you please tell me if it's me not setting up something properly or Spotify causing unwanted complications and excecive, time (and data) consuming actions to take when someone is buying a new device?

In short: I got a new phone to replace the old one and it currently became the 4th device with Spotify Premium. Downloading a playlist caused that I lost my music on ALL devices and a message of exceeding the 3 offline devices was displayed.

Why is the app not informing about the limit before downloading, showing as well the list of devices and asking which one the user would like to remove or to cancel the download?

Now I've lost all my offline music before I fully configured the new phone and got rid of the old one. The other 2 devices remain active, so still there are 3.

As much as I understand the limit of 3 devices, the way you are 'communicating and penalising' adding the 4th device is far away from being a consumer friendly solution. It could be as simple as verify before downloading and show a message 'Offline devices limit reached, please remove one of the below listed device or cancel the download'.

Come on Spotify - I am sure you can do this!

Kind regards,

 Philip
