One episode of aPodcast won’t play. It’s China Unscripted #210

I am trying to switch my podcasts from YT. I’m on IOS. So I find this episode here, and would like to play it. I click it, it says it’s playing but there is no audio, and the playback is frozen at 0:00. I can skip ahead, but it freezes on that time stamp to. Others podcasts and music plays fine. It won’t download for offline either.

I’ve updated the app. Closed all other apps. Switched it to cloud, then pulled it back in an attempt to clear the cache. Uninstalled reinstalled. Turned off my VPN for all of that. Am on a stable WiFi connection for all of that. Turned my phone on and off.

It does however play on Windows.

If someone can tell me why that’s happening, I’d appreciate.

Thanks for letting us know!

Does the podcast play with VPN switched off? 
We don't recommend using Spotify together with VPN as this can often lead to unexpected playback errors.

Would you mind switching it off again, removing your cached data as shown here, restarting your app and checking if the episode plays?
In case all is well, you may want to include Spotify as a VPN exception 🙂

I did all that. Without VPN on. Still not working.

In this case, we'd like to gather some additional info. Would you mind sharing with us the make/model and exact OS version of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there?

On another note, just to confirm, is this happening over 3G/4G as well? Do you notice any difference if you switch the internet connection you're using?
 

Lastly, can you replicate this behavior on a different mobile device? It’d be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.

I am having the same issue with all the podcast episodes from China Unscripted. It is only their podcast that doesn’t work. I’ve tried all the steps above also and it still isn’t working.
