Opening a shared link removes playlist

My Question or Issue

when I'm opening a shared link from a friend on my iPhone the Spotify app opens and the currently playing playlist is removed.. Only any already existing queue stays present.

For example: I'm listening to New Music Friday, a friend sends me a link to a song. The app opens, the song is instantly played, but then there is nothing. I have basically no idea which song I listened before (only in Recently Played) of the New Music Friday playlist. And there is no way to just jump right back into the previous playlist.

I would also expect the shared song would be added to queue and not instantly played.

We can confirm that this is the current expected behavior of the mobile app: opening a Spotify link automatically plays the track and overwrites the previous queue.

Adding the song to the queue instead does sound rather interesting though, so feel free to submit your feedback on our Ideas Exchange board. Others can then show their support by giving your idea a thumbs up. When your Idea gathers enough votes it is sent to our internal teams for review and potential implementation.

Me too. When opening a link from friend, I wish it opened it as a search, so I can choose what to do myself: add to queue or playlist or take over now playing or whatever, instead of completely ruining your current queue. Please fix!
