My Question or Issue

Hello,

I'm not sure when this started. but I am unable to play / shuffle all liked releases by an artist. Before I was able to do this but now the play button just does nothing. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!

Hey @pwgreco, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵

Could you try the same with a different artist? See if the issue is specific to that artist.

Here are some suggestions:

- Clear the app cache by going to app settings -> storage.

- Perform a clean install of the Spotify app. Refer to the instructions here for more details.

- If you have any VPN or DNS setup, try disabling those.

Let me know how it goes. 🙂

Hi Amayy,

Thanks for the reply! I’ve tried all of the above, plus a phone restart and the issue still persists. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the confirmation @pwgreco. Can you tell me if this happens on all artists or only a specific one? Also, see if you can reproduce the same issue on another device/platform.

Hey @Amayy,

Thanks again for the reply!
It also happens with other artists and is happening on my Samsung Galaxy tablet as well.

Hey @pwgreco thanks for the info.

Can you try creating a new account and then like some songs from that account? You can like songs from the same artist you posted the screenshot of.

Then see if the same issue occurs on that account. This might tell us if the issue is with your user account. 🙂

Hey @Amayy I think this feature is only available in premium. When I create a new account I can't see my liked releases by artist at all.

Hey @pwgreco,

Thank you for your message.

Jumping in just to mention that this behavior could be related to the network connection as well. So in this case, we'd recommend trying with a different Wi-Fi network or mobile data to see if it makes any difference.

If the issue persists, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be waiting for your response.

Hey @OscarDC,

Thanks for the reply!

I've tried with cellular and another Wi-Fi network and the issue is the same.

It did work at some point on my home network.

The Spotify version is 8.9.90.84.

Thanks!

Hey @pwgreco,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.

It looks like the version you included in your post is not the updated one. So in this case, we'd also recommend updating your app to its latest version by following the steps mentioned in this article to see if it makes any difference.

It would also be great if you could have someone log in with their Premium account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.

Lastly, since it worked at some point with your home network, then the issue may be caused by the Wi-Fi connection itself. If that's the case, we'd recommend changing the DNS settings on your router to 8.8.8.8.

Hope this helps. We'll be waiting for your response.
