My Question or Issue
Some time after update to version 8.8.62 I lost the ability to change the play order of my queue. Songs are now locked into the order they were queued in. UI of the queue lacks the three bars to the right of the song title that I would normally click and drag to change the order.

Hey @gracevroom,
Could you try logging out and signing back in to your account? This forces a resync of the app that may help here.
If possible, it's also worth checking if this behavior persists on another mobile device by logging in to your account there (a friend's or a relative's would do).
Cheers!

yes, this problem was unique to my phone as i am logged in on ipad and there was no problem there. so, logging out and back in again on my phone resolved the issue! thanks very much!!

Iphone 8+ on iOS 14.6 Version: 8.8.62.549
The queue on the phone is missing the 3 lines for reordering.
This behavior has persisted through multiple uninstalls, and occurs on all songs.
This behavior only started appeared a little into august, and was normal before it.
Below is an image of the queue, with the lines for reordering it missing:
Hi there @goydaterzu,
Thanks for reaching out. Can you tell us more specifically what the behaviour is? Some screenshots or a video would be very helpful here. Also try performing a clean reinstall as shown here in case you didn't follow all of these steps when you first reinstalled.
Keep us posted.
i had already done a full reset and just did another one. now on version 8.8.66 with no change. when in the next from queue and playlist tab the three lines on the right side next to each song are missing and i cant rearrange any of the songs. i only have the problem on this one device so far. i can change the play order on other devices running 8.8.64 as well even when listening through the one im having the problem on but cant change the order on the device with the problem at all
I have tried this on several devices, and it seems that on older devices the queue does not show up, and this solution did not work for me, is there anything else that can be done?
Hi there folks,
Thanks for your replies in this thread.
If logging out and back in didn't make a difference, make sure you try running a clean reinstall, as suggested by @Joan. No worries, you won't lose any content, you'll just need to download your offline music again.
If that doesn't help, could you try using another Spotify account on the device you have this issue in? It can be a family member or friend's account. Lastly, send over the make/model and OS of the device along with the Spotify version you are currently running.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply!
Since yesterday the queue option on my app has disappeared. I cannot even drag songs or add them to a queue...this is very annoying...it's working on other devices logged in with the same account but not on my phone...I've logged in to different accounts and it's working there....I reinstalled the app, my phone is up to date but nothing has solved it as yet
This is still a problem, I can't even use the queue. I think it has been an issue for years. Spotify figure your **bleep** out.
As the title says.
My app version is 8.8.78.670, which is the latest available update for me. Whenever I go to my queue, I am unable to change the order of the songs since the three lines that were there to drag songs are no longer present (see attachment). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, logging out and in again, and I’ve tried deleting the cache - none of which solved the issue. I logged into my dad’s phone to check if the issue persists, but for some reason the three lines were present on his phone (his version was 8.8.66 at the time).
On a side note, I noticed yesterday before making space on my phone (I was nearly out of space at 127.7gb out of 128), that the three lines reappeared and I could rearrange the queue. As soon as I made space and opened the app again, the lines where gone.
Please advise on what to do next to restore this function.

Hey there @DJGiand,
Thanks for reaching out on the Community.
We see that you've already tried some troubleshooting, great job!
Could you double-check if there's any updates available for your device's operating system? You can check by heading to Settings > General > Software Update. If possible, can you also try logging into another account on your device? For example, you can ask a family member or a friend to sign in to their Spotify account on your phone to see if the 3 dots appear.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
Hi Yordan,
Unfortunately, most of my family and friends either use the free version of Spotify or Apple Music, meaning I cannot verify if logging into another account would give me the same issue.
I do have software updates available, however, I am unwilling to update since I'm not a huge fan of the newer iOSs to be honest. Despite the questionable UI changes, it seemed to be a general downgrade in its ease of use, even when taking into account the possibility of familiarising yourself with the changes. Personal reservations towards the new iOS aside, I would rather continue having this issue and stay on my current iOS, than only possibly fixing the issue and irreversibly updating my iOS.
I imagine it is an odd situation, but would you still have any other suggestions/advice despite this? The three lines have been there in previous versions of the app and somehow they were present when I had extremely low space, so I would imagine it is possible to restore this function, but I am at a loss here for what can be done. As great of a function as it was, I doubt the solution should be to keep my phone at low storage the whole time haha.
I don't know what the solution would be, but the fact that the lines reappeared in the aforementioned situation would make me think that it is possible to fix, assuming we can find out what caused the lines to reappear and what the link between my low storage and Spotify working as intended was.
Lastly, not that I've lost hope yet, but in case nothing works, would it be possible to download an older version of Spotify, whether through iTunes or some other method? If it truly is just my iOS being outdated (which I doubt given the low storage shenanigans), it is a shame that Spotify didn't warn users that the update was unsuitable for people running a previous iOS or even outright disabling the possibility to update unless the user is on iOS 15 or above (as some apps have done).
I will await your next correspondence. Until then, I wish you a good day!
Hey @DJGiand,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
We understand you'd like to downgrade the Spotify version, but keep in mind that if you notice any other issues with the old version's Spotify performance, we won’t be able to provide adequate advice, since it wouldn't be an official version of the app.
It's important for you to take into account that to ensure the proper performance of both your device and the app, it's better to keep them up-to-date. Since you mentioned you couldn't replicate it on a different mobile device, perhaps this is more related to your device and its settings per se. We'd suggest updating your OS device to see if you notice any changes, but we understand where you're coming from. We appreciate your comments on the matter.
Hope this clears things up. We'll be on the lookout!
Bring back queue sorting. I've been unable to sort the queue for months on iOS. This app is broken without this feature.

Hello! So i've never had this issue before but alas here i am. I updated the spotify app a few days ago so i could get my wrapped. And reordering my queue was still possible up until today. Now when i go to see my queue it looks exactly like the other screenshots in this thread. I have already logged out and back in several times. I did two clean reinstalls and still the same. Being able to shift around the queue order is pretty crucial for me. What can i do ?
Nope, tried that. Also deleted app, restarted phone, reinstalled, restarted again, logged in, restarted yet again… still can’t edit queue. Apple Music here I come!
