Playback stops after 'longer' tracks

Playback stops after 'longer' tracks

I've been having a rather weird issue with playback on my iPhone. When I play an album it plays through fine unless there's a track that's over approx. 10 minutes. It plays the long track fine but then playback stops. When I click 'Next song', playback is completely cancelled and I have to click on the actual next song to start playback again. It doesn't matter whether the +10min track is the first, fourth or any other number on the album.

I have tried both with autoplay and/or gapless playback on and off, and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

It does play through if I scroll through the track. For example, if I skip to the last five seconds of the track, it continues fine to the next.

It happens regardless of whether I'm using headphones, Bluetooth speaker or built-in phone speaker.

Have anyone experienced similar issues? Or does anybody have a solution?

I have in iPhone SE running the latest iOS and latest Spotify app version, using Premium. The problem has been present for nearly six months or so.

Hey, thanks for reaching out.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here. Pleae try it with another Spotify account, on another platform and see if the issue persists.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I often restart my phone, at least once a week if not more. I should have mentioned it, but I did already try to reinstall the app. I'll try to do it again, though. (It did not work..)

The desktop version on my PC works just fine with my account, no issues there. I'm not able to try another phone at the moment.

App version: 8.4.53

iOS: 11.4
