Playing freezes after end of selection

Listening to playlist on continuous play, not shuffle. At end of a song, the next selection won’t play. Swiping right changes featured album cover, but not song - bars for now completed song keep moving, but no sound.
Any interaction with app then freezes everything, requiring restart. There is a downward shortening of played songs before only one songs plays between freezes, even if device is turned off.

Might play 1 song or 2 to 3 songs, then stops. Play bar is active but no sound. Stays stuck, won't log out and have to power off phone to get out. Has played fine for 2 years, up until 4 days ago. Cleared cache, removed app and installed new app but continues to stop. WTH?!

You’re not alone. I have discovered the same problem today. However, the problem is only with my I pad, not my iPhone or Mac. I have tried all the things that are recommended but no joy. I will keep an eye out for any replies that could help.
