Podcast playback speed resets to 1x after switching from desktop with 1,3x speed

My Question or Issue

When I listen to music or a podcast on my desktop app I use 1,3x podcast speed. On my phone the speed is also set to 1,3x. When I switch listening from desktop to mobile app the playback speed is always reset to 1x which is annoying.

I’ve already tried removing the cache and reinstalling the app but the issue persists.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

Could you let us know if this happens while both apps are open? We'd also like to know if this happens with all podcasts. If so, could you try logging out and then logging back in to your account twice in a row? This will trigger a sync between your account and device.

If the issue persists, you mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall on both devices, as it's more thorough than a normal one?

Having the same Issue, however i think it has something to do with the overall Issue that playback speeds resets on mobile devices.

Doing a clean install on all my devices seems to have fixed it for now

I have noticed for the last few days that when I first open Spotify after not using it for a few hours that the playback speed for my podcats reverts back to 1x, and I am unable to change the speed back unless I close the app and reopen

This is annoying me so much too. The workaround I found is to play 1x and then you can change the speed. But like you said it reverts back to 1x multiple times during the day. I'm using iPhone 13 pro. Please fix this.

I enjoy listening to my podcasts at 3.5x speed. For the last week or two whenever I close and reopen the app my playback speed resets to 1x from 3.5x. This has never happened before. I have tried logging out and back in as well as doing a clean re-install twice and the same issue persists. Does anybody know why this is happening or how I can maintain my 3.5x playback speed whenever I open the app and start a podcast?
