Podcast stops playing and then plays new episode

Podcast stops playing and then plays new episode

Plan - Premium

Country - Canada

Device - iPhone 11 Pro Max

Podcast randomly stops playing and then starts a new episode. When I go back to the episode I was listening to before it does not remember where I left off and starts from the beginning. I am using wifi, and the episodes are downloaded.

Hi @Elvischnguyen,

Thank you for posting on the Community and welcome!

To start, we'd like to have some more insights about this issue:

  • Is this happening only with one podcast, or in general with any of them?
  • Does the same happen when you activate the Offline Mode?
  • Have you tried replicating the issue on different devices?

We'll be on the lookout.

Are you new to the Community? Take a moment to introduce yourself!

This is happening to me suddenly as of a couple weeks ago. It doesn’t remember where I left off. A typical incident is I open Spotify to play my episode, a commercial pops up at the accurate spot, then when the commercial is over it plays the next episode. I’ve learned to look at the time I’m on when the commercial plays but this hasn’t resolved itself.

Hey @Caitlingeeeee,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Does this happen if you listen to the full commercial without skipping it?

Could you also check this thread with similar reports and let us know if you experience the same?

It is also important for us to know if the described by you issue is related to a specific podcast or it happens with all podcasts on different devices.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!
